Qualified Freight Train Drivers - Talent Pool

We are looking for qualified freight drivers who enjoy varied working to join our talent pool and become an integral part of the delivery of our nationwide services.

 

We recognize flexibility & hard work and reward with role development such as route, traction and locational training.


You will also receive:

  • A basic salary of £74,812.50 per annum for a 45 hour/* day week
  • Door to door pay
  • Lodging allowance
  • Opportunity for overtime
  • 21 days annual leave (+ bank holidays) increasing to 23 days after 2 years service

Ground Staff

Western Region



Multiple vacancies have arisen for individuals to join DCRail as a Ground Staff Member on a full-time basis.


The successful applicants will join our Ground Staff Team and will need to be safety focused whilst also committed to delivering a reliable and on time service.


Responsibilities:

  • Load examinations
  • Relevant Safety checks
  • Conducting safe shunting operations in accordance to the relevant Railway rules and regulations with the goal of dispatching trains safely and on time


Requirements:

  • Clean, full UK driving license
  • Must live within 1 hours commute of Bristol.
  • At least two years previous operational experience is desirable but not essential
  • Flexible attitude to working hours
  • Safety conscious with the ability to remain calm in emergency situations


Competitive rates of pay are available and will be dependent upon experience.

ETCS Finance and Administration - DCRail HQ, Derby, United Kingdom




Role Overview

DCRail is a leading UK-based rail freight company, pioneering in the adoption of the European Train Control System (ETCS) to improve the safety and efficiency of our operations.

 

As an ETCS Finance and Administration professional, you will be pivotal in providing support to the ERTMS Project Manager through a variety of financial, administrative, and secretarial tasks. This role demands a proactive, detail-oriented individual capable of multitasking and efficiently managing project documentation to ensure the smooth progression of our ETCS implementation.


Key Responsibilities



  • Assist with general project support, including the management of project documents and secretarial duties.
  • Coordinate logistics for internal and external ERTMS meetings, such as arranging videoconferences, meeting rooms, and catering.
  • Manage key project documents, including the Outstanding Actions Log, Risk Register, Vehicle Fitment List, and more.
  • Arrange travel and accommodation for the ERTMS project team and staff involved in ERTMS activities.
  • Onboard new team members, ensuring they are integrated effectively into the ERTMS team.
  • Handle expense management and the collation of invoices and activity logs for submission to Network Rail.
  • Maintain the ETCS cost forecast model and address all queries related to ETCS period cost applications.


Key Objectives


  • Ensure efficient financial and contractual management of the ETCS implementation.
  • Provide administrative support to facilitate the successful delivery of the ETCS project.
  • Enhance communication and coordination within the ERTMS project team for smooth operation.


Skills and Attributes


  • Education: Minimum GCSE Grade 'C' in Maths and English. A Bachelor’s degree in finance, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience: Previous project environment experience, ideally within the rail industry. Familiarity with project documentation and management tools.
  • Knowledge: An understanding of financial and contract management processes. Knowledge of ERTMS/ETCS projects is advantageous.
  • Skills: Excellent communication and written skills, along with strong organisational and multitasking abilities.
  • IT Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, SharePoint) at an intermediate level.
  • Willingness to travel to different DC Rail sites across the UK. A proactive, detail-oriented approach and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Driving Standards Manager -

DCRail HQ, Derby, United Kingdom




Role Overview


The Driving Standards Manager will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, maintaining operational excellence, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement within our Operations team.


You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring driver standards, policies, and procedures to enhance safety, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.

Key Objectives


  • Deliver key documentation updates to cover changes relating to standards and legislation.
  • Track performance of driving staff relating to training, assessments, and incidents; and develop monitoring plans to ensure high standards of driving skill and knowledge are maintained.
  • Maintain up-to-date driver profiles on designated CMS software.
  • Assist in developing best in class training and assessment material to drive standards.



Skills and Attributes


  • Degree level education is preferred.
  • Certification or accreditation in relevant areas such as driver training, safety management, or quality assurance is desirable.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle emergency situations effectively.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire, motivate, and empower drivers to achieve excellence.
  • Extensive experience in rail freight operations, with a focus on driver management, safety, and regulatory compliance.
  • Current ETDL Holder/Train Driver Competence.
  • Proven ability to develop and deliver training programmes, conduct audits, and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Microsoft Office Suite
  • Presentation skills (online and in person)
